The hidden cost of key cards and keys in a hotel
If you run a hotel, a guesthouse or an aparthotel, you already know the routine: cards that guests lose on the beach, magnetic strips that stop working next to a phone, arrivals at two in the morning, and a master key ring passed from hand to hand between the head housekeeper, cleaning and maintenance staff without anyone knowing exactly where it is.
With the AYR ecosystem, every access permission is digital: it is created for a specific person and specific dates, and revoked instantly from the app. A three-night booking gets three nights of access. A hotel isn't just one door. These are the four we digitalise, in the order the guest passes through them:
- Building entrance. With AYR Interphone, the street door opens from a phone – ideal for guesthouses and hotels without 24-hour reception.
- Room door. AYR Smart Handle replaces the handle; AYR Pass Lite or Lock Pro motorise the existing lock, invisible from the corridor.
- Service areas. Storerooms, office, laundry, plant rooms and cleaning cupboards with access restricted by person and schedule, with no master key ring.
- Central control. From the AYR Integra app you can see the activity at every door and create or revoke permissions instantly.

Hotel FAQs
Does the guest need to download an app to get in?
No. They can enter with a virtual key received by email or WhatsApp, opening it from their phone's browser, or with a PIN code on the Keypad. The app is only used by your team for management.
Do I have to change the room doors or locks?
No. Smart Handle replaces only the handle, and Pass Lite or Lock Pro are fitted over the existing lock, on the inside. From the corridor, the door looks exactly the same.
What happens if the power or Wi-Fi goes down?
The devices run on long-life batteries and open via Bluetooth even without internet. Wi-Fi is only needed for remote opening and notifications.
Is it suitable for a small guesthouse or aparthotel without 24-hour reception?
It's the ideal case: guests receive their access before they arrive, enter the building with Interphone and their room with their virtual key or code, at any time and without anyone having to wait for them.
Can I start with just a few rooms?
Yes. The ecosystem is modular: many hotels start with one floor or with the staff areas and expand later. Devices are added to the same app without redoing anything.
Is there a discount for multi-door projects?
Yes. From two installations within the same project, we apply a volume discount. Tell us how many rooms and areas you want to digitalise and we'll prepare a combined proposal.
