Does it work with all types of intercoms?
It works with all analog intercoms. For use with digital intercoms, it will require manipulation in most cases for proper installation, so consulting a professional is recommended. For capacitive intercoms, an adapter supplied by AYR will also be necessary.
Can I install AYR Interphone myself or do I need professional help?
Improper handling of the intercom can cause serious malfunctions in both the intercom itself and the building's central control unit. Therefore, even though it is a suitable device for installation, it is recommended to seek advice first, contact AYR, or hire a certified professional.
Do I need to modify the central switchboard or communal intercoms, or do I just install AYR Interphone in my house?
No. AYR Interphone is installed directly on the intercom of the home and does not require manipulating doorbells, switchboards or any common element of the community.
Is it necessary to ring the doorbell to open the door in all cases?
It will depend on the type of intercom and the building's configuration. For analog intercoms, a prior call is not necessary: a direct call from the app will open the door. For digital intercoms, if only the single-opening wires have been connected, a prior call from the building's entrance will usually be required. If using the dual output of AYR Interphone version 1.2, activating the intercom with the first output in cascade and opening it with the second, a single call from the app will suffice.
Why is it mandatory to use AYR Nex to enjoy AYR Interphone?
AYR Interphone is installed on the intercom in your home, while the building entrance is usually located several meters away and even at different levels, preventing direct Bluetooth connections. For this reason, and to avoid unnecessary Bluetooth searches, the AYR Integra app remotely opens the door via AYR Nex, ensuring fast, reliable, and hassle-free access.
