How do you recharge and replace the AYR Pass battery?
The AYR Pass battery is easily removable from the bottom thanks to its magnetic connection. It features a USB Type-C connector and requires a USB Type-C cable and a 5V, 1A charger. Charging time is between 4 and 8 hours. During charging, the battery's red LED will blink, and once charging is complete, the blue LED will indicate that the battery is fully charged.
Does it work for all types of doors, cylinders, and locks?
It works for both cam and gear locks, and this can be selected during device setup. A European profile cylinder is recommended, but it is also compatible with Oval, Swiss, and UK profiles. Smooth and proper use of the lock and cylinder is essential. It will not function if the lock is too stiff to open or close.
Do I have to cut the key to install Pass?
Generally, no. It has a large housing, but it's possible to find keys that are too large. Check the key size in the Pass manual. If the key needs to be cut, it's recommended to cut off the entire key head and use the cut key adapter for proper operation.
Can I use my Pass if I don't have an internet connection or mobile data?
Using Lock Pro with the AYR Integra app will always require an internet connection on your mobile phone to validate the user and permissions. The only way to unlock the device without a data connection is by using AYR Integra devices such as the Key Pro or Keypad.
Can the installation be done by an end user or only by a professional? And what about maintenance?
Yes, the installation is simple and can be done by knowing the basic requirements: use of double clutch cylinders, proper functioning of the lock without hardness or difficulty in closing or opening, and correct functioning of the door without rubbing, sagging, closing problems or abnormal functioning for a device that simply turns the key on the inside.
